# Free credits & what you get on signup

> When you create a Chief account, your first 10,000 credits are on us.

## Start with 10,000 credits, on us

When you create a Chief account, your first **10,000 credits are on us**. [Credits](/help/plans-credits-billing/how-credits-work) are what Chief spends as it works — chatting, processing files, and running its intelligence. You don't pay anything to get started.

## The Explore plan

New accounts land on the free [**Explore** plan](/help/plans-credits-billing/plans-overview-explore-pro-power-user-enterprise) at **\$0/month**. On Explore you:

* Get **10,000 credits for registering**.
* Get free credits that **refill at 300/day**, so your balance tops back up over time.
* Can [buy additional credits](/help/plans-credits-billing/refilling-credits) as needed if you want more headroom.

<Note>
  ℹ️ **Good to Know:** Free daily-refill credits and purchased credits behave differently. Some features — like [**Deep Intelligence**](/help/answer-depth-chiefs-agents/deep-intelligence-research-mode) — require a paid subscription regardless of your credit balance.
</Note>

## When you need more

If you run low, you'll [see your balance](/help/plans-credits-billing/checking-your-credit-balance-usage) and a prompt to refill. Paid plans (such as **Go Pro**) add a monthly credit allotment, credit refill bonuses, and other benefits; the top tier is **Enterprise Unlimited**. You can review options on the pricing page.

<Tip>
  🚀 **Pro-Tip:** You can check your remaining credits anytime from the prompt bar — open the Command Center with the **+** button (or ⌘K) and look at **"Credit Balance,"** which shows your remaining credits.
