# Inviting your team

> Sharing a Project lets colleagues see the same Files and chats and collaborate with you.

## Bring your team into a Project

Sharing a [Project](/help/projects-sharing-teams/what-is-a-project) lets colleagues see the same Files and chats and collaborate with you. You can invite people three ways — by email, by domain, or with a secret link — and set what each person can do with a [role](/help/projects-sharing-teams/roles-access-levels-owner-collaborator-reader).

## Open the share options

</Frame>

1. Open the Project you want to share.
2. Open its share panel — the **"Share this Project"** section, or click the **"Share Project"** button.

## Invite by email

</Frame>

1. In the **"Invite by Email"** section, type one or more addresses in the field (placeholder: **"[Mark@MyCompany.com](mailto:Mark@MyCompany.com), [Margaux@MyClient.com](mailto:Margaux@MyClient.com), etc..."**).
2. Choose a role from the dropdown — **Owner**, **Collaborator**, or **Reader**. It defaults to your own role.
3. Click **"Add"** to send the invitations.

## Other ways to invite

</Frame>

* **[Domain Access](/help/organization-administration/understanding-seats-domain-based-access)** — in the **"Domain Access"** section, enter a domain (placeholder: **"MyCompany.com, MyClient.com, etc..."**) so anyone with an email from that domain can see the Project. Separate multiple domains with a comma.
* **[Secret Link](/help/projects-sharing-teams/inviting-members-email-domain-invite-link)** — in the **"Share a Secret Link"** section, click **"Create Secret Link"**, then **"Copy Link"**. Anyone with the link is added to the Project at the role you set.

<Note>
  ℹ️ **Good to Know:** The three roles are **Owner** (full admin access), **Collaborator** (can chat and add Knowledge), and **Reader** (can read chats and Knowledge). Not sure which to pick? Use the **"Learn about Project Roles"** link in the share panel.
</Note>

<Warning>
  ⚠️ **Important:** A Secret Link adds *anyone* who opens it to your Project at the role you chose. Share it only with people you trust, and use Reader if you just want them to view.
</Warning>

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="What does an invited person see when they click the link?">
    They see "You've been invited to a project." If they're not signed in, they're prompted to "Create an account to accept the invitation and start collaborating" or to "Log in to accept your project invitation." After signing in, the invite is accepted automatically.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I invite people if I'm not the Owner?">
    The role you can assign is capped at your own role. The invite form defaults to Collaborator, or to your role if it's higher. If you can't assign a role you expect, ask a Project Owner.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I shared a domain but a colleague still can't see the Project. Why?">
    Domain Access only matches people whose Chief account email is on that exact domain. Confirm they signed up with their work email on the matching domain, and that you spelled the domain correctly.
