Two ways Labels save you time
Tagging a file with a Label takes a couple of clicks and pays off twice: the Label shows on the file’s card so you recognize it instantly, and you can filter your Library down to just the files that carry it. This article covers tagging one file, then filtering by Label. (To tag many files at once, see bulk labeling — or attach Labels by name straight from your own code with the Labels API.)Tag a file with a Label

- Find the file you want to tag in your Library and hover over its card. A row of Labels and a tag button appear on the card.
- Click the tag button (its tooltip reads Add Label). A picker opens with a search box.
- Type in the search box to find a Label, then click it to apply it. The Label appears on the file’s card right away.
- To remove a Label, hover over its pill on the card and click the X that appears.
ℹ️ Good to Know: You can apply more than one Label to the same file. When a card has more Labels than fit, it shows a +N more button — click it to expand the full list.
Need a Label that doesn’t exist yet?
If the Label you want isn’t in the picker, type its name in the picker’s search box and choose the option to create it. The new Label is created and applied to the file in one step.Filter the Labels page by Label

- Go to the Labels page in your Library.
- Click the Add Filter button (it shows a filter-plus icon). A Choose Labels to Filter picker opens.
- Click one or more Labels in the picker. Each becomes a filter chip above the list, and the list narrows to matching items.
- To stop filtering, click the Clear button next to the filter chips.
Switch between “all” and “any”
When you have filters from two or more Labels, click the operator chip at the start of the filter row to flip between include all of (a file must carry every Label) and include any of (a file matching any one Label is shown). Collections use the same AND/OR logic to define a saved, reusable group.Frequently asked questions
I removed a Label by accident — is the file gone?
I removed a Label by accident — is the file gone?
No. Removing a Label only detaches the tag; the file itself stays in your Library untouched. Hover the card, click the tag button, and re-apply the Label.
What's the difference between filtering and searching?
What's the difference between filtering and searching?
The search box matches Label names by text. The Add Filter control narrows the view to items carrying the Labels you pick, and lets you combine several with “all of” / “any of” logic.
