# Connecting Zoom to auto-sync transcripts & chat logs

> Connecting Zoom lets Chief automatically sync your meeting transcripts and chat logs from Zoom, so that material comes into Chief without manual uploads.

## What the Zoom connection does

Connecting [**Zoom**](/help/integrations/zoom) lets Chief automatically sync your meeting **transcripts** and **chat logs** from Zoom, so that material comes into Chief without manual uploads.

## Connect Zoom

1. Go to **Settings** › [**Integrations**](/help/integrations/integrations-overview).
2. Find the **Zoom** card — "Automatically sync meeting transcripts and chat logs from Zoom."
3. Click **Connect** next to Zoom.

  ⚠️ **Important:** Integrations are available to [paying users](/help/plans-credits-billing/plans-overview-explore-pro-power-user-enterprise). If you're signed out, you'll be asked to [sign up](/help/getting-started/creating-your-account-signing-in) first; if you're signed in, clicking **Connect** opens a "Book a Call" prompt to set the integration up with the Chief team rather than a one-click self-serve connection.

## Zoom sync vs. a Live Session

These are two different paths to the same goal:

* A [**Live Session**](/help/meetings-live-sessions/what-are-live-sessions) captures a meeting live through the Chief desktop app on your Mac.
* The **Zoom** integration pulls transcripts and chat logs that Zoom itself produced.

    No. For Zoom, connecting currently routes to booking a call with the Chief team to set the integration up.

  <Accordion title="Why am I asked to sign up when I click Connect?">
    Integrations require an account, and they're available to paying users. Signing in (and being on a paid plan) is required before connecting Zoom.

  <Accordion title="Does connecting Zoom replace the desktop app?">
    No. Zoom sync brings in Zoom's own transcripts and chat logs; live capture of any meeting still needs [the Mac desktop app](/help/meetings-live-sessions/installing-the-chief-desktop-app-mac-required-for-capture).
