Zoom no longer connects directly to Chief

Chief no longer offers a Zoom integration or automatically syncs Zoom transcripts and chat logs. To bring a Zoom meeting into Chief, capture it live with the Chief Live Sessions App or upload a transcript after the meeting.

Capture a Zoom meeting live

  1. Install and pair the Chief Live Sessions App.
  2. Open Zoom and join your meeting.
  3. In Chief, choose the Project where the session should be stored and click Start Live Session.
  4. Keep the app running while you meet. Chief captures your microphone and system audio and builds the transcript in real time.
This works with Zoom without connecting a Zoom account. It also works with other meeting apps and in-person conversations whose audio reaches your computer.

Add an existing Zoom transcript

If Zoom already produced a transcript, download it from Zoom and upload the existing transcript in the Chief Live Sessions App. Chief creates a Live Session from the file so you can review its summary, decisions, and action items or start a task from it. Uploading a transcript processes the words in the file. It cannot recover audio, Zoom chat messages, screenshots, or other context that the file does not contain.

FAQ

The Zoom integration has been removed. Use a Live Session to capture the call as it happens, or upload a transcript Zoom created after the meeting.
No. Chief captures meeting audio during a Live Session and processes transcript files you upload. It does not connect to Zoom to import its chat logs.
Yes. Start a Live Session while the call is running. The Chief desktop app captures the audio that reaches your computer, so no Zoom connection is required.
