As you type, Chief can show a stack of relevant prompt suggestions above the prompt bar. Suggestions can include an Improved prompt, one of your saved prompts, or a Chief template.

Use a suggested prompt

Chief: improve prompts — the Try this improved prompt card
  1. Type a prompt of at least a few words. Suggestions appear after Chief has enough context. For questions suggested from your knowledge instead, see Expert Lens.
  2. Select an Improved prompt to open and review the rewrite.
  3. Click Edit to put the rewrite in the composer, or Submit this instead to send it immediately.

  1. In the prompt bar, open Customize and select Prompt Suggestions.
  2. Turn each source on or off independently:
    • Improved prompts — rewrites your draft and offers it for review.
    • Your saved prompts — suggests prompts you saved to your library.
    • Chief templates — suggests ready-made prompts from Chief.
  3. If you dismissed the suggestion strip, select the Reopen suggestions icon in the prompt bar to show it again.
Good to Know: Chief does not auto-apply rewrites. You decide whether to edit or submit each improved prompt.

FAQ

Suggestions need enough text to work from, so very short prompts may not trigger them. Open Customize → Prompt Suggestions and confirm the source you want is switched on. Rewrites are also skipped when your prompt contains template variables, such as #{text:name}.
No. An improved prompt opens for review. Click Edit to place it in the composer or Submit this instead to send it. Use Revert if you want to restore your earlier draft after editing.
Improving a prompt is a small, separate step Chief runs as you type. You’re billed for the prompt you actually send, the same as any other prompt.
