Organization Owners can add provider keys so chats using that provider run against the Organization’s own account and do not spend Chief credits.

Add a provider key

  1. Open Organization settings and select AI Providers.
  2. Click Add key.
  3. Choose Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter.
  4. Enter a Name that identifies the key and paste the API key.
  5. Click Add key. Chief verifies the key with the provider before saving it.
Chief only shows the last few characters after saving. A valid entry displays Active. A key the provider rejects displays Rejected.

Test or remove a key

Click Test beside a saved key to verify it again. Click Remove and confirm to delete it. Chats on that provider then return to Chief’s keys and resume using Chief credits.
⚠️ Important: Treat provider keys like passwords. Only paste them into Organization → AI Providers, and remove a key immediately if you believe it was exposed.
