Turn an error into extra credits

Sometimes something goes wrong and Chief shows an error screen titled Unexpected Error - Let’s Fix It. When that happens, you can report the error to the team and they will thank you with extra credits. Reporting also helps the team find and fix the problem faster.

How many credits you get

  • 1,000 extra creditsvisible in your balance — for emailing the error report.
  • 5,000 extra credits in total if you also tell the team one thing you’d like them to improve.

Report the error from the error screen

  1. On the error screen, find the line that begins “If you email us to report the error.”
  2. Click the email us to report the error link.
  3. Let your email app open the pre-filled message. The error details are filled in for you.
  4. To earn the larger reward, replace the “Tell us here!” line with one improvement you’d like to see.
  5. Send the email to the support address.
⚠️ Important: Send the report from the pre-filled email so the error details and credit request are included. If you write a fresh email without them, the team may not be able to match it to the error or apply the credits.

Before you report, try a reload

The error screen also has a Reload Page button. Many errors come from an out-of-date browser tab, and reloading clears them. You can reload and still send the report afterward.

FAQ

The credit reward is tied to the unexpected-error screen and its pre-filled report email. If Chief is working normally, there’s no error to report. For other issues, use the Get Help widget instead.
Credits are added by the team after they receive your report, so they are not instant. If they haven’t appeared after a reasonable time, reply to your report email or message the support team.
