Tell the Chief team what to build or fix

Have an idea that would make Chief better, or hit something that isn’t working right? Send it from the Get Help widget. Feedback and bug reports go straight to the team so they can prioritize and follow up.

Submit feedback or a feature idea

  1. Click the Get Help button — the question-mark help icon in the left navigation bar (it’s also in your account menu).
  2. Wait for the help panel to open.
  3. Choose the option to share feedback or send a message.
  4. Describe your idea: what you want to do and why it would help.
  5. Click Send to submit it.

Report a bug

  1. Open the Get Help widget.
  2. Start a message describing the problem.
  3. List the steps to reproduce it, what you expected, and what actually happened.
  4. Note your browser and whether reloading the page helped.
  5. Click Send.

Send Live Sessions App feedback and logs

Use the Live Sessions App’s diagnostics report when a capture, transcript import, update, or other desktop workflow fails. It sends your description and recent app log to the Chief Support team.
  1. Open the Chief Live Sessions App.
  2. Click the ? button in the bottom-right corner. Its tooltip says Send logs to support.
  3. In Need help or have suggestions?, describe the bug or feedback. Include what you did, what you expected, and what happened.
  4. Enter a contact email if the app does not already know your signed-in email.
  5. Click Send Logs.
After a successful upload, the app shows a Report ID. Save it for follow-up. If a support ticket was created, click View support ticket; otherwise, the team follows up by email.
⚠️ Important: Send Logs attaches the recent Live Sessions App log to your report. Review your description for sensitive information and do not paste passwords, Personal Access Tokens, or other secrets.
🚀 Pro-Tip: If a bug crashed the page and you saw an error screen, report it from that screen instead — Chief thanks you with extra credits for error reports.

Frequently asked questions

Feedback is an idea or request for something new or better. A bug report is something that is broken or behaving unexpectedly. Both go through the same Get Help widget; just say which one it is.
Not every idea gets an individual reply, but the team reads what comes in. For a bug, include your account email so the team can follow up if they need more detail.
Reopen the Get Help widget and check the messages view; a sent report appears there. If it isn’t listed, your message may not have gone through, so try sending it again with a stable connection.
Enter a description first. If the app asks for a contact email, enter a valid address so Chief Support can follow up.
Check your internet connection and click Try Again. If it still fails, use the Web App’s Get Help widget and mention that the diagnostics upload failed.
