Symptoms
- You see Failed to open billing portal. Please try again later.
- An upgrade or plan change won’t go through.
- You can’t find a way to change your subscription in the app.
- You’re unsure whether a charge or refill applied.
Likely causes
- A temporary hiccup reaching the billing provider.
- A browser blocker (pop-up blocker, ad blocker, or strict privacy mode) stopped the portal window.
- Your subscription is managed by support rather than self-serve.
Solution
Option A — “Failed to open billing portal.”- Wait a moment, then click the billing/manage option again — the message says “Please try again later,” so a retry often works.
- If it keeps failing, disable pop-up or ad blockers for the site (or allow pop-ups via the icon in the address bar) and retry, since the portal opens in a new window.
- Try a normal (non-private) browser window on a secure (https) connection.
- Open your plan or billing settings and use the billing portal to update your payment method or plan.
- If you see “Contact support to manage your subscription,” your plan is managed for you — reach out to support to make the change.
- Where you hit a gated feature (for example, chat search), click See plans or Upgrade.
- Complete checkout in the billing portal. If checkout won’t load, follow Option A first.

That’s usually a browser blocker closing the pop-up window. Allow pop-ups for the site, turn off ad/privacy blockers, and try again in a normal window on https.

Refresh the page so the new state loads. If it still hasn’t applied after a few minutes, contact support with the charge date and amount so they can reconcile it.
